Meltums™: an innovative and unique dosage form.

Meltums™ was developed specifically to maximise patient compliance and is a unique solid/semi-solid lozenge encapsulated with Meldex’s proprietary XGel™ film. Meltums™ offers the combination of a high dose with pleasant taste-masked delivery of a wide range of food, cosmetic, nutriceutical, vitamin and pharmaceutical materials. Products can be short duration melt-in-the-mouth or, by incorporating sustained release beadlets, can be profiled to give specific release characteristics. The final product shape is adaptable to meet specific consumer/patient needs. Meltums™ is especially suited to help the dysphagic* patient, including children, to swallow medicines.
